Settled in 1642, Lexington has achieved a population of roughly 32,000. Well known as the site of the beginning of the American Revolutionary War in 1775, Lexington has always been noteworthy due to its role in history. For many of its earlier years the town was primarily a farming community which served produce to Boston. Come the time of the 1960’s, most of the farms had been slowly becoming developed into neighborhoods for housing. Shortly after with numerous businesses emerging along the Route 128, Lexington became an ideal town to live in for professionals and property values began to rise as a result.
Today Lexington is home to some of the best school systems in the state of Massachusetts. This coupled with charming homes and a great town center with art galleries, shopping and dining opportunities make Lexington an extremely sought after town.
